From the Evergreen State to the Emerald Isle
When Britta first emailed me about doing a family session while she and her boys were in Northern Ireland, she mentioned that she was a fellow Pacific Northwesterner and I have to admit I felt like doing a happy dance. For those of you who don't know, I am from Washington State in the USA which is up in the Northwest corner of the country, right on the Pacific. Come to find out when chatting more, not only were we both from the PNW (Pacific Northwest), BUT we were both from Washington State, AND not only were we both from Washington, but we lived mere miles from each other! It was so nice to have a little bit of home on the other side of my lens for once.
I met up with Britta, Zach and sweet Barrett mid morning at Dunseverick Castle on the Causeway Coast. Thankfully it was gloriously sunny and calm (which ensured we were all sweating by the end of the session!). They were such troopers as we trekked all over the landscape, and fell numerous times thanks to the morning dew that was still on the grass.
We braved the mud, bugs and other gifts left by animals in search of capturing the sweetest memories of their trip to the Emerald Isle and especially of their time on the North Coast. I loved seeing their pure yet strong bond and sincere love for each other shine during our morning together. There is no doubt that these three love and care incredibly for each other, and that is exactly what I set out to capture that morning.
I will forever have a passion for capturing families as they are; little staging and posing just simple guidance which will evoke the most natural and genuine interactions. My passion is for the Shuster family to look back on their trip to our glorious Island with nothing but the sweetest memories of not only their trip but of this sweet time in their family's journey. Shuster fam, you are welcome here any day!
